This product contains 2 ingredients: lidocaine and tetracaine. Lidocaine and tetracaine both belong to a class of drugs known as local anesthetics. This product is used on the skin to prevent pain before certain procedures (such as dermal filler injection, facial laser resurfacing, laser-assisted tattoo removal). It works by briefly numbing the skin and surrounding area. This product is not for use on mucous membranes.
Temporary redness, stinging, change in skin color, or swelling may occur at the application site. If any of these effects last or get worse, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects. Get medical help right away if you have any very serious side effects, including: pale/bluish/gray skin, unusual tiredness, shortness of breath, slow/shallow breathing, fast/slow/irregular heartbeat, seizure. A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.
